Mike Myhre (North Team One)
Director of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network
Mike Myhre holds more than 20 years of economic and business development experience, dedicating his career to ensuring success for entrepreneurs and small business owners. He joined the Florida SBDC Network in January 2011 as Deputy State Director and has served as Interim State Director since March 2013. In this role, Myhre was responsible for day-to-day operations, including the management, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization.
Prior to his tenure with the FSBDCN, Myhre held the position of State Director for the Office of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development for the State of Minnesota. In this position, Myhre provided oversight of the state’s leading office of entrepreneurial and small business policy development and support services, including direction of the Minnesota SBDC Network. The Florida SBDC Network hosts 46 locations across 67 counties. Specialized services include: Growth Acceleration, International Trade, Business Research and Government Contracting.
Al Salgado (South Team Two)
Director of the South-West Texas Border Small Business Development Center Network
Al Salgado’s professional experience includes small business management and ownership, strategic planning, organizational leadership, and entrepreneurial management. He holds an M.B.A. from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and a B.B.A. from Eastern New Mexico University.
The South-West Texas Border SBDC Network is one of four regional SBDC networks in Texas, covering a 79-county service area that spans most of the southern half of the state. The network consists of 10 service centers and two specialty centers in international trade, market research (hosts SBDC Net/SBA national information clearinghouse) and government contracting, as well as programs focused on the needs of Texas’ rural communities and veteran-owned businesses.
Katie Sewell (North Team One)
Director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center Network
Katie Sewell joined the Idaho SBDC as the Deputy Director in 1999 and was named State Director in early 2013. She has more than 25 years of experience in developing and delivering business assistance programs. Her areas of expertise include triple bottom line business practices, grant management, strategic planning, program development, and sustainable development. She has been a member of the accreditation committee for SBDCs since 2009.
Prior to joining the Idaho SBDC, Katie was Bureau Chief at the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy from Colorado State University and an MBA from Boise State University. She has served on a variety of non-profit boards including the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center, the Idaho Environmental Forum, GreenWorks Idaho and Dunia Marketplace.
The Idaho SBDC Network covers six regions and 44 counties in Idaho. The Idaho SBDC Network consists of 6 service centers with two specialty centers, which include technology commercialization and environmental assistance.
